Baby Furniture – Let your baby relax

Baby bedroom furniture includes the bed, playpen, baby closet, hamper, rocking chair, changing bed and toy chest. There are actually more kinds that you can go for, but these are the most popular. There are many choices open to fond parents and many of them are sold as sets to follow a theme. At the very least, beds come with matching pillows and covers and perhaps a mobile. Very often they come with matching lamps and curtains as well. These are available in pastel colors in various themes but baby girl pink and baby boy blue are still the most popular, followed closely by yellow, green and rainbow.

Themes ranging from Winnie the Pooh to baby ducks are available for selection, but unless only one child is planned, it is best to keep the color neutral for gender matching. Moreover, unless the parents are progressive thinkers, which means any color and theme is neutral, so a Disney Princess motif could do just as well for Junior. It is all good.

For traditional-minded parents selecting baby furniture antique baby beds, genuine and fully restored, are available for sale and may be the centerpiece to bring a unique blast-of-the-past ensemble together. Matching table lamps, a wrought iron table stand and a toy chest made of cedar or oak would look perfect and the child will think it is the 19th century. Moreover, it would be a good piece to pass on. It must be noted, though, most antique baby beds are made of wrought iron which may not be the safest material for babies. Moreover, it is usually much more expensive than a perfectly good modern baby bed from a discount baby furniture store that will probably deliver and assemble the furniture for free. However, it really depends on the parents and their budgets.

Many parents are safety conscious, and require baby safe products made with non-toxic materials and child-safe construction (no sharp edges, no metal sidings) but these are all easily available for the conscientious shopper. Other baby furniture products available for outside the nursery include carriers, swings, walkers, trailers, car seats and strollers. If there are budget constraints, one solution to getting good furniture is through A.A.Y.S.R. (ask and you shall receive). Scout out friends and family with grown up children and chances are they would love to unload the old nursery stuff put away in the attic or garage to you. While it is most likely they will not match, with enough imagination and spit and polish, it could result in a beautiful room for your baby.
